Now that’s a cocktail ring if I ever saw one! Can you imagine if we had real, glittering flowers like that?! Victoire de Castellane, the creative director of Dior’s Fine Jewellery has done wonders to capture the beauty of nature in precious metals, stones and hand-painted lacquer. And if you look closely at the Diorette designs, you’ll even notice bumble bees and ladybugs!
In an interview with Intelligent Life Magazine, de Castellane revealed her feelings towards flowers:
“…when I was small, I hated flowers. I hated the fact that when you got given one, three days later it died. Eventually, they always left you. That’s why I love to make flowers in jewellery, to fix them in eternity. That way, they can never die.”
Actually, some of her rings remind me of the echinacea flower. The milk thistle is another one that could look spectacular if Dior chose to incorporate it into their jewellery designs! Wouldn’t it be great to create beautiful pieces to look like these flowers? They are such a huge help in keeping our immune systems and livers in good health, we might as well celebrate that (and continue to keep them that way)! 😉
